Trouble accessing Front Row?? Log in to student.frontrowed.com and enter your child's first and last name. Enter our class code: 3aykbw.
Please let your child complete the Front Row assignments on his/her own. It is an adaptive program, so if you are helping them then I can't see what they know independently. Feel free to assist with problems AFTER you've let them problem solve on their own.
It is expected that students are using Front Row and/or XtraMath at least 3 times per week.
Let me know if you have any questions!

We are off and running in Room 107! Beginning of the year testing is finished, which means we are ready for centers and small groups! We also have a student teacher (Miss Molly) joining us for the month of October, so that is a great help to have. Please check the updated Secret Reader schedule, and let me know if you still would like to sign up. Also, a big CONGRATULATIONS to our September Leaders of the Month: Eloise and Abhishek. Way to be proactive leaders in our class!

Here are a few helpful resources to reinforce learning at home:
Open House is on Tuesday, September 20th, from 6:15-7:15 PM. We will be going over many important items to ensure a successful school year, so your attendance is very important. Childcare is not provided, so please make arrangements for children. Also, there will be a mini farmers market beforehand to raise $$$ for our spring garden. Come early for some fresh produce!

We had an amazing first week! Please have your child complete the All About Me book in his/her homework folder. We will be getting to know each other by sharing our books with the class on Friday, September 16th, so have them completed by then. This helps to build a strong community of learners. Feel free to make the books more personal by adding real pictures or bringing in artifacts! Please help your child, but I encourage independence when possible. Thank you for promoting student success!
DonorsChoose: Please help our classroom get some engaging word work activities by contributing to our Engaging Word Study project! Click here!
I cannot believe that summer is coming to an end, but I am so excited to get the school year started! We are going to have a great year together!
Please refer to South Loop's website for the supply list to set your child up for success this school year.
Here are a few ideas to help get your child get ready for the first days of school:
Ask your child to think of something exciting from the summer to share with the class. Did you take any trips? Who did you spend time with?
Talk with your child about some learning goals for first grade. What do they want to learn? What do they hope first grade will be like?
Help your child get back on a school schedule so they will be well rested and have a great start to the year! First grade does not nap or have snack, but we sure do have fun learning!
I look forward to meeting you and your child on the first day of school--Tuesday, September, 6th!
